Innovation in space

Are you developing systems that will operate in some of the most inhospitable regions of the universe? Then an FPGA or development of mechanisms in motion could be part of the solution. At Inventas, you will find some of the country's leading experts in design, various mechanisms, verifications and UVVM - ready to help you reach new heights (and planets)!

Space technology places extreme demands on performance, reliability and energy efficiency. To meet these demands, solutions such as FPGA technology or the development of advanced mechanical systems can be key. The goal is flexible, robust and high-performance components – characteristics that are crucial for the demanding environment of space travel and space installations.

We help you where you are in the development process:

The next big thing in space technology

ESA's PLATO is going on a planet-hunting mission

The European Space Agency's (ESA) new telescope, PLATO (PLAnetary Transits and Oscillation of Stars), is getting ready for launch in 2026. The goal? To find Earth-like planets outside the solar system.

PLATO will collect data on the sizes of stars and planets, orbital periods and much more. The spacecraft will be placed in what is called the L2 Lagrange point for the Sun-Earth system. That is about 1.5 million kilometers outside the Earth, as seen from the Sun.

Inventas, as a subcontractor of Kongsberg Norspace, has been involved in developing the K-band modulator that transmits observation data from PLATO. This modulator takes in data from the storage unit, encodes and modulates it to ensure the best possible reception on Earth. The module also contains an RF part that filters and adjusts to the transmission frequency of 25.6 GHz in the K-band.
